Welcome to Mission Wildflower 🌻

Naming the language of women veterans.

The military told you how to act, and civilian life still doesn’t quite fit. You know who you are. We believe that it’s time you had the space to live it, with people who speak the same language.

Mission Wildflower exists to name what women veterans are living- the terrain, the patterns, and the language that’s been missing.

Not handed down from an expert, but built together by women who’ve been in the same terrain. We don’t reduce you to a type or diagnose what’s wrong with you. We map your full blend and show you what’s been true all along.

So if you’re asking:

  • why no-win situations follow you everywhere (in and out of uniform),

  • why civilian life still doesn’t quite fit, or

  • why you connect better in mission context than anywhere else,

you’re in the right place.

It’s tough to be a wildflower and be treated like a weed.

This is your compass for living woman veteran.

The Mission Wildflower 🌻 Guides

Everything we publish is organized into two connected frameworks.

1. The Wilderness

Women veterans don’t live linear lives. Situations drop like a grenade and shake the foundation of who you are and the path you’re on. Often there’s no warning, no SOP, and no training manual for what comes next. That’s the Wilderness. When you have language for it, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Naming it is the first step to moving through it together.

2. The Wildflowers

Take the Assessment and read all 8 Guides in the Wildflowers section.

The Wildflower Personality Assessment maps your full blend (not a type, a blend) across eight patterns on one compass, which we refer to as the garden. It steadies the present, helps the past make sense, and opens what’s possible. The same wildflower in hostile terrain doesn’t become a different flower, it just blooms less. Knowing your pattern changes how you read the terrain you’re already in, and it and gives you language to recognize the women moving alongside you.

The eight patterns: Iris · Hollyhock · Sunflower · Violet · Goldenrod · Primrose · Daisy · Lily

The Wildflower Assessment for Women Veterans

The Wildflower Assessment for Women Veterans

You’re at an event. Formal. The kind with name tags and too-loud music in a room that wasn’t designed for conversation. A handful of women veterans are there. You don’t all know each other — not really — but within twenty minutes you can sort of pick them out.

We also encourage you to join a peer group at womanveteranstrong.org. Access is complimentary, thanks to funding provided by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
